We want to funnel viewers to checkout as efficiently as possible. Does SEO get in the way of that? Sometimes, yes. But there’s a balance. If you keep SEO off of your product pages, competitors eschewing that sacrifice will likely best you in the AI and SEO messaging game.
Can we have it both ways?
Yes.
Enter the “More Info” tab

Known interchangeably as the “More Info” tab, “Product Details” dropdown, “Learn More” expandable accordion, or other, even goofier names, the use case remains the same:
Give SEO a place to productively strut on product pages without sacrificing hard-earned merchandising flow.
A wall of “SEO text” in the middle of an otherwise optimized e-commerce experience can throw a hitch in your sales-UX giddyup.
Nudging the SEO content to an adjacent area serves three purposes:
Three Product Page Wins from Adjacent SEO Content
- AI and search engine crawlers get more context about the product through more heavily optimized content.
- Shoppers not quite ready to be funneled to “Add to Cart!” can learn more about the product in a less sales-forward manner.
- This area can be used to intralink related products or to link to tangentially related supporting blog posts.
While this approach offers clear benefits, it’s not the only path to success.
When to use a “More Info” tab
Shuttling AI/SEO messaging to a semi-hidden area isn’t necessary if you can find space for it below the fold. Many brands succeed with longer, more text-heavy product pages. Some excel with tighter messaging. The “More Info” tab is a compromise for those who want a sales-first UX without the potential distraction of other messaging.
When in doubt, test. Try it both ways; see which works best for you.
Strategic Communication Serves Two Audiences
You don’t have to choose between rankings and conversions. Give SEO its own corner and let your checkout flow stay friction-free.
